2018, achieving another milestone

IROAD TX9

Going beyond and surpassing the past.
Premium, dash camera

Even with the continuous launch of various brands and models of dash cameras, the fact that dash cameras are separated into different quality tiers does not change.
Products with high-performance hardware or feature-packed devices are classified as high-end and are set at a premium value. Products with less features and more compromises compared to premium dash cameras are set at a lower price point and serves only the mainstream market. However, with the release of IROAD TX9, the high-end and low-end boundary between dash cameras is disrupted. With a mainstream and welcoming price point but made with superior and innovative technology and hardware, the IROAD TX9 is the main product for the best bang for your buck.

Good Bye, 1080p Resolution.

For years, the resolution standard among vehicle dash cameras is 1920 x 1080 FHD. However, with the emergence of the IROAD TX9, it is time to leave the age of FHD behind. The IROAD TX9 can record front and rear channels, with 3072 x 1728 (3K) in the front and 1920 x 1080 (FHD) in the rear. The TX9 records crystal clear images with 3K resolution in the front, which is about three times that of conventional HD dash cameras. With the latest high-resolution image sensor, the 6Megapixel Sony Exmor Starvis IMX326 sensor, and the IROAD-only image quality tuning technology, the IROAD TX9 offers the highest quality image that cannot be compared with other FHD dash cameras. With the outstanding resolution and pioneering image quality technology, the IROAD TX9 will lead and continue to lead the future of dash cameras.

The Latest 6Mega pixel Image Sensor

In recent years, high-end dash cameras have included Sony image sensors in order to achieve the best image quality. This is due to the fact that the performance of Sony sensors has been verified and trusted by many users. In particular, the IROAD TX9 offers amazingly sharp images through this proven Starvis IMX326 sensor, the latest Sony image sensor, which gives it a great advantage in license plate recognition, both during the day and night.

Night-time and Parking Recording Innovation, X-VISION

Parking mode recordings are often proportionally more than normal driving mode recordings. When a vehicle spends more time in parking, there is also more change to be damaged while parked. Even in the early days of dash cameras, parking mode was considered to be a secondary feature, but dash cameras that allow car owners to continue recording during parking became very popular among consumers. The most influential variable is the high visibility in low light conditions such as night-time and underground parking lots. The IROAD TX9 automatically recognizes when a low light condition occurs during parking recording, thereby the brightness when recording footage.

IROAD TX9’s unique technology, X-VISION, applied when driving. Just as the nocturnal leopard starts hunting in the evening, the IROAD TX9 is even truer and more realistic at night.

The results of experience,
Advanced recording functions

When the price is low, does that mean we should compromise and accept the unreasonable stability or shortage of recording functions? IROAD has said “No” to this question all along, and they have been steadily gaining popularity and support from many users. The IROAD TX9 inherits all the basic dash camera features of the exiting IROAD dash camera models, and with its superior image quality, it is much more powerful. For people who are new to dash cameras or even for those who have already installed dash cameras, IROAD TX9 will not fail to satisfy.

Driving mode recording

The IROAD TX9 enters full-scale recording at 3k in the front and FHD in the rear when driving. The IROAD TX9 features a 150-degree angle of view which can record a much wider area than other dash cameras. The power of the Sony Starvis IMX326 sensor mentioned above will be enough to see realistic front and rear views that will never lag behind other dash cameras and significantly enhances the reliability of the dash camera.

Videos are smooth and not choppy as recording is done at 30 frames per second both in the front and rear camera. Some dash cameras operate at 20 frames or 24 frames per second, usually disregarding the fps and only increasing the resolution. However, IROAD dash cameras are set on increasing the overall quality, both the fps and also the resolution.

Event Recording

Ironically, as the function of dash cameras are developed day by day, event recording is often neglected. But anyone who are looking to purchase a dash camera, they should check the event recording functions. Make sure event videos are stored safely and that the image quality is good. The IROAD TX9 records and stores any impact, accident, collision safely, and can be tremendously helpful after an accident. In particular, the IROAD TX9 has the advantage of being able to check the recordings via the built-in LCD screen and with the Wi-Fi function, which will be described below.

Parking mode recording

As mentioned before, a vehicle spends a lot of time in parking, therefore the IROAD TX9 puts a lot of thought and focus regarding parking mode. One of the strengths of the IROAD TX9 is the attention paid to parking mode recording function which wins other dash cameras. The parking recording function linked with the X-vision function is very easy to manage because it stores the event recording image immediately when impact is sensed and classifies it as a motion recording file when motion is detected in the forward and backward directions. There are many people who worry about battery discharge due to dash cameras, the low 2.9W power consumption in parking mode and automatic power off when low battery power is detected can save users from these worries.

As the parking recording function is emphasized, the security LED light function becomes more and more important. This function informs the users and others that the dash camera is in operation. Much thought went into the design of the security LED light for the IROAD TX9.

LCD which beyonds the limit of viewing angle

Nowadays, a lot of dash cameras sport a LCD screen, but the IROAD TX9 has an advantage over other dash cameras on the market. LCD screens adopted in dash cameras are usually low-cost TN panels due to cost. TN panels have a huge disadvantage regarding the narrow and limited viewing angles. When the dash camera is often mounted at a higher level compared to the driver’s position, the TN panel screen fails to deliver and fulfill its purpose. However, the IROAD TX9 introduces the IPS type panel which is superior in both horizontal and vertical viewing angles so that even when the screen is located away from the driver, the screen is still visible. Thanks to its large screen size and excellent color depiction, it fulfills all the purpose and convenience of a LCD screen on a dash camera.

Check real-time recording

If anyone has ever tried to install or mount their dash cameras themselves, they will understand the difficulty of adjusting and optimizing the recording angle and set up of the dash camera. With the LCD screen, users are able to adjust to an accurate angle by consulting the real-time recording right on the LCD screen. The screen on the IROAD TX9 is a welcomed feature especially for this function.

Check any recording immediately

Woke up in the morning only to discover that your vehicle bumper has been scratched? Do not waste time removing the memory card and reading it on a computer. The IROAD TX9 built-in LCD screen allows easy and convenient playbacks of videos stored on the memory card with just a few touches. Not only is the UI easy to navigate, the design is touch-sensitive, so it is never difficult to operate.

A setting to match any situation

Every vehicle is different, and the vehicle’s battery status is always different. If a dash camera allows you to change the settings according to your own personal vehicle and environment, it is considerably better. Is there any other programs needed to change the settings? No, the IROAD TX9 offers a variety of options and settings, including front and rear camera image quality and frame settings, shock sensor sensitivity, and cut-off power settings, all just at your fingertips. Users can optimize the settings and the whole experience according to their needs.

Wi-Fi Connect, the future of convenience and smart technology

With the Wi-Fi dongle, you can further maximize your use of the IROAD TX9. The dedicated IROAD application allows you to view real-time videos, monitor both front and rear sides, as well as view videos that are already recorded, similar to using the LCD screen. Settings can also be changed via Wi-Fi on the smartphone. It is very easy to operate from a user’s point of view.

Real-Time View

Users can view the current recording screen on your smartphone, save it on your smartphone, and upload it to YouTube for sharing. Due to the nature of the application, it is 15 frames when played back in real time, so if you want to experience a smooth playback, it is recommended to download and view the file.

Automatic Firmware Update

Dash cameras also come with firmware to fix the inherent bugs and enhance the function after a certain period of time. However, in order to receive the firmware file, the user had to go through the process of copying the file to the memory card after visiting the website. However, with the IROAD TX9, users can easily update the firmware via their smartphones. Users only need to set up the Wi-Fi connection between the dash camera and the phone, the firmware will update automatically.

Simple setting configurations

As mentioned, the LCD screen is easy to operate, but the configuration with the dedicated mobile app makes it even easier. Users can optimize setting values with just a few touches on their mobile screen. Anytime, anywhere, the settings for the dash camera can be changed.

Functions to protect the driver
Advanced safe driving begins

The ADAS features that were once only found on luxury vehicles. Not many dash camera companies consider putting ADAS functions in their dash cameras. The ADAS function of the IROAD TX9, is equipped with the LDWS function that warns the driver of a lane departure, the FVDW that detects the departure of the front car, and the FCWS function that helps prevent collisions by recognizing the distance to the front vehicle.

LDWS

Drowsy driving is one of the reasons that lead to serious accidents. Especially on highways where vehicles are kept moving at a constant speed. When the driver becomes drowsy, and when the vehicle is not in the middle of the lane and gradually steers towards one direction and crosses the lane. The IROAD TX9 detects this and immediately warns the driver when the car is going over 50km/h.

FCWS

A collision accident caused by drowsy driving on a highway is directly linked to fatal accidents. It is one of the basic techniques of driving to maintain a safe distance between vehicles. The IROAD TX9 recognizes the distance between the vehicle in the front and will warn the driver when the distance is narrowed excessively.

FVDW

Ever gotten distracted when waiting for the traffic light? The IROAD TX9 will alert the driver when the vehicle in the front departs after stopping at a traffic light. The soft effect sound helps the driver to focus back on the road and begin driving again after waiting for the traffic lights.

Format-free technology
Pursuing extreme stability

Because of the ease of management on a computer, dash cameras that uses FAT32 file system suffer tremendous challenges in memory card management due to the nature of the file system. The IROAD TX9 does not have such problem as the memory card stability is enhanced by applying a format-free technology that can sequentially store images.

The JDR file system adopted by IROAD is able to save the physical file in the order to maximize capacity and sequentially store the files internally. Also, even if some JDR files are deleted from the memory card, the files can be restored by inserting the memory card into the main device and rebooted again since the file information is still in the physical memory area of the card. This also means IROAD memory cards cannot be tempered with.

However, the JDR system requires a dedicated viewer program to extract the files separately. In addition to the existence of the installation file in the memory card, the program can be found on IROAD’s official website. The dedicated viewer can perform various additional functions necessary for the dash camera such as viewing the graph value of the G-sensor, the GPS position and the driving history.

On the other hand, the IROAD TX9 also supports 256GB large capacity memory card, so there is no worries about storing 3K high images. Considering the fact that 4 hours of high-resolution driving footage can be stored on a 64GB memory card, purchasing a higher capacity memory card that meets the MLC type Class10 will be a wise choice.

The beginning of the 3K era
Dash camera surpassing limitations

There are many complex reasons why dash cameras did not go beyond Full HD for a long period of time. However, IROAD TX9 demonstrates that there are no longer limitations in this aspect. Combining all the features of the existing IROAD dash cameras with the latest Sony image sensor, superior image quality with tuning technology, and incredible stability based on format-free technology, it is sure to take over the dash camera market.

We know that there is not stopping in technology development, but we also wanted to see the limits and to break any stereotypes in technology. The IROAD TX9 is pursuing to be affordable yet equipped with ultra-high performing hardware and software. With an IPS type LCD screen, and Wi-Fi module, IROAD will continue to lead the market.

Jaewon C&C, the developer of IROAD, was awarded the Tower of Excellence at the 54th Trade Day ceremony on December 5th last year. In October of last year, Hong Kong’s local IROAD service center was opened after the one in Singapore and achieved a great milestone by acquiring global partners in over 30 countries and improving sales through successful development of popular dash cameras. The IROAD TX9, released this year, is also likely to be a highly recognized model.

The start of 2018 is good. IROAD TX9 is the key to opening up the true high-resolution dash camera market beyond Full HD. This dash camera, sporting 3K resolution, Sony image sensor, IPS LCD screen, smartphone interlock function, ADAS function and format-free function ensures stability and reliability.
